Tasting notes
Tasting notes
The wine presents itself with an intense ruby red colour and notes of red berries, plum and cherry, complemented by black pepper, cinnamon and liquorice.
This wine is robust, complex and well structured, warm and enveloping, followed by harmonious, velvety tannins and a surprisingly fresh finish.
Vinification
Vinification
Depth and character: that is what this beautiful wine stands for. With respect for tradition and attention to detail, it is vinified according to traditional methods, with every step aimed at revealing the purest expression of Nebbiolo and the unique terroir of Roero.
Vinification begins with careful maceration in horizontal fermentation vats at a controlled temperature that never rises above 30°C. Only the natural yeasts native to the grapes are used, a choice that guarantees authenticity and an honest, pure expression of grape and soil.
Fermentation is followed by a long ageing of at least 24 months in barriques and large oak barrels, after which the wine rests for another 12 months in the bottle. This time gives it its refined oak notes, silky tannins and a harmonious balance.
Serving temperature
Preferably serve at 18°C to bring out its full richness and aromatic depth.
